3rd-2nd millennium BC, Old Kingdom - I Dynasty A tall alabaster vessel, the elongated body of slightly flaring cylindrical form with everted rim and circular base.
Cosmetic articles were very important in Egyptian households. Scenes showing elaborate vases and spoons for ointments and perfumes were depicted in tomb paintings and actual artefacts have been found in tombs and elsewhere.
